Epeorus Emerger
Hook: TMC 112Y #11-19 // Shuck: Z-lon // Abdomen: Super-Fine Dubbing (Light Cahill) // Rib: Fine Gold Wire // Thorax: Hare's Mask Dub (Khaki) // Legs: Partridge Silver Neck // Post/Wing: CDC (Natural)
Make sure only post/wing is above water, and the rest of the fly is sunk. When Light Cahills are hatching, I can almost always have good results with this, or spent/drowned pattern.

Failed Okuma
Hook: TMC 212TR #11-15 // Tail: Hen Fiber (Natural Black) // Body & Thorax: Super-Fine Dubbing (Rusty Brown) // Rib: Stripped Peacock Herl // Wing: CDC (Natural Dark Dun) // Post: CDC (Natural)
Cincticostella elongatula, native to Japan, looks and bahaves similar enough to Flav, except for the color scheme of the body. It hatches when the cherry trees blossom, and you are better equipped with floating nymph, failed emerger and full-floating dun/thorax patterns.

This type of generic fat parachute flies can be used all season, suggesting various forms of food that float down the river to be used by yamame and iwana.
